"I do believe I have the answer. Puzzling? I think not." A blue capped teen with brown spiked hair will say by flashing closer and closer to the screen after you solve a puzzle correctly. Your self esteem instantly boosts as you see the Picarats you've gained at the top of the screen and the correct explanation being written. Continuing on for the story, you look for some more hint coins, ready to take on the next puzzle. The game? Professor Layton and the Last Time Travel.
"Zero attacked!" The command's writing will come up in yellow letters like a typewriter as an armor-clad immortal attacks a Greek myth. An enemy on the other side. Analyzing the enemy's attack, then setting up the other immortals in your team to defeat them. This was all about strategy. The game? The Glory of Heracles.
"Naruto used Fire Blast! It was super effective!" Carefully analyzing the leaf-type opponent on the opposite side. A fire type would easily be able to finish it off with one strong fire move. As the gold fox-like creature makes up a ring of fire that eventually turns into the kanji for fire onto the defenseless green opponent, the awesome sound of the super effective noise executes from your speakers. Your enemy falls. The game? Pokemon Emerald Version.
"Show me your S4!" The familiar voice sounds as your teammates take off beside you, equipped with stormbats, submachine guns, and spy knives. Running around you look for a red crown which signals your enemy team. Seeing bullets in the distance, you quickly rush over with your stormbat and swing around among the fray, seeing your combo points rise on the right side. Simultaneously dodging attacks from your enemy and being grateful for your teammates help. The game? S4 League.
"Ready to die?" "Then die!" A girl's voice comes on first. Then yours does, the guy's voice. The main character comes on. Finally you made the right combos and your cards are all set for a multi-dimensional attack on the Noise you're facing. A big aid in week one since you're just starting out. Tapping and slashing the DS screen furiously trying to eradicate it all at once, your senses are high and alert as the Noise tries to get a hit in edge wise. Smashing the arrow keys to make sure your teammate at the top stays alive. The game? The World Ends With You.
Gaming is my life. All these different flavors combined into one. In Professor Layton you get the classic England with mind boggling puzzles that really stretch your intelligence out. The Glory of Heracles you get ancient Greece and all it's mythological perspectives while learning the best strategy for attack. In Pokemon Emerald you get a taste of what it's like to be challenged and to become the "very best that no one ever was". Learning and analyzing Pokemon types to always stay on top. S4 League always brings out the most intense gamer you hide within you. This is not your typical game. It's all about quick reflexes and the best battle tactics along with learning how to be a team. The World Ends With You is much more than a simple Japanese anti-social music punk facing some Reapers to come back to life. It teaches you how to break out of that shell thanks to the help of different people's "styles". All of these games have one common goal however. To bring out the best in you. To show you you aren't a loser. To bring up your self esteem when you rise victorious. People think gaming is a waste of time. What do you think now?
My English teacher assigned a project that I should've been working on and so far this is my favorite. This is a vignette. I really love gaming c:
